Hallelujah!!

UPDATE! The handles to the dresser I'm working on are now off!!! Yes, this is a glorious picture! ha!
Here's a picture of the dresser handles before (well AFTER I painted a terrible coat of paint over top of them):
Even though this is something I should have done BEFORE I primed and painted this lovely piece of furniture, this was one of those "trial" projects.... but HOPEFULLY it will turn into a triumph one! I unscrewed the back of the handle (thinking it would only release the ring) but to my surprise it released the whole scroll and all! So, here is what I ended up with:

Now I am working to get these sections looking like the rest of the piece... Wish me luck!

More Snow?

Well, the crazy weather people are predicting ANOTHER snow for North Alabama tonight and into tomorrow... I will believe it when I see it.. But I did want to share a few pictures from the "big" snow we got last month... we had about 6 inches, and schools and businesses were closed for the entire week! Now, where I come from 6 inches is nothing, so, I was the only one at my office for the week!!

This is our backyard:

These are some bradford pear trees that line a pasture close to our house:

Bank on Lake Guntersville:

Just a pond...We will see how the evening and early morning pan out tonight!

Need Help!

We've had this dresser in our garage for probably a year, Here's a picture Before:

And Now:
It still needs much touch up and another coat of white..... But, what I need help with is the handles...I will add a close-up of the handle situation, but I'm just not sure what to do with them... The top drawer is no issue, but the bottom three all have this decorative scroll-like THING in the middle of them with a top-drop-down ring attached... I could probably get the scroll thing off, but I'm not sure of the situation underneath them! Anyone have any suggestions?

Cardage

Just wanted to show some cards I made (last YEAR!) I just found these pictures of them, they are definitely not my favorite, however I do really like the brown and blue ones! I discovered THE single-handily most awesome company to buy stamps from here. They by far sell the best product I've ever used!
I also invested in one of these little doozies last year.... I invested in the Create, there is a larger machine called the Expression which many people suggest buying: however I couldn't imagine needing it for cutting anything out that was 12x12 (plus with the Create you can still cut out 12" letters!) Let me just say I have been very pleased with this purchase... and would suggest it to ANY scrap-booker, card-maker, or hobbyiest sign maker. It is SO much more than a card-stock-cutter-outter!

Lampage

Finally! New Lamps for the Living Room! The ones I had were very nice when my Aunt gave them to my as a house-warming gift when I moved to Alabama from my mom's house in Michigan.... almost 7 years ago! They have been spray painted, banished to the garage, brought back, spray painted again, shades changed, shades changed back.... here's what they looked like Saturday:
I know, I know... the feathers on the top are different, but hey, they worked for our room... when it was gold.... and red... Now it's green and brown.... I just wasn't feeling them in the newly painted living room...Saturday, we just HAPPENED to be in Vestavia Hills for a YAC team meeting, and I had been reading all the great finds my friends over at my favorite blog find at Home Goods, so I had to woe my husband to the nearest one after the meeting. I found a few things I loved, but nothing I couldn't live without...
UNTIL, I walked around the very last isle back in the very left hand corner and saw this:

Yes, I am a thrifty shopper...and I must admit, I DO enjoy when "Clarence" visits. So, this is what they look like in the living room: (yes, with the Clearance tag still hanging on them! I had to enjoy the steal I got on them ($29!!))

They look brown when they are lit, but blueish greenish (yes, thats a color!) when not lit.
I do realize I haven't posted after pictures since I painted the living room and purchased a new sofa... I will do that soon!
